Earl Beatty Fun Fair & Ball Hockey Tournament

Just over a week until May 30th!

Saturday, May 30th, 2009 - 10am to 3pm
Earl Beatty’s 5th Annual Fun Fair
& Ball Hockey Tournament

May 30th is closer than ever, and our Fun Fair wouldn’t be complete without a delicious bake sale! We’re asking parents to please bring nut free baked goods & treats to the lunchroom the morning of the fair. If you have any questions please contact Lisa Chapman at 416 691 8627, or rlchapman(at)primus(dot)ca.

Earl Beatty is an Eco Friendly school so please don’t forget to bring your own reusable drink container for water. Bring a blanket too if you want to sit on the grass with your lunch.

We’re still looking for volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering for a couple of hours on the day please contact: Kris Wessenger-Macdonald at 416 423 2005, or kristinamariewm(at)lycos(dot)com.

Janet Davis's Environment Day May 16th - HELP!

Calling all Earl Beatty Greening Supporters - we need your help!

As you all may know, Councillor Janet Davis hosts a Community Environment Day each year to help our neighbourhood recycle items that can't go in our blue boxes, have a place to put reusable items and pick up great compost, among other things.

This year, it is on Saturday, May 16th, from 10am to 2pm at Stan Wadlow Park Clubhouse, 373 Cedarvale, east of Woodbine.

Why do we need your help? Janet Davis has offered the Greening Committee the proceeds from the BBQ that she hosts during that time. Each year the amount of money earned goes to a charitable or good cause, and she invited the Earl Beatty Greening Committee to participate and earn the $400 to $500 the BBQ makes for our front garden and learning circle.

What do you need to do? Come to the Environment Day and spend an hour or two (depending on the number of people we get) cooking up the hotdogs, and selling them and drinks. Whatever we make, we keep for the greening of the yard.

Please contact Liza at 416-425-5289 or email her at liza.ordubegian@gmail.com if you can spare some time. Pick up some free compost or purchase a water barrel while you are there!
