Beach Solar Systems and Green Roof Workshops

Saturday, June 27, 2009, 10:00am – 3:00pm at Community Centre 55, 2nd Floor, 97 Main Street (at Main Street & Swanwick Ave.)
Join Live Green Toronto as we present two separate sessions on “greening your roof”.
Learn about:

• Costs, benefits, and requirements for solar power and solar hot water systems
• Energy savings and benefits of green roofs and rooftop gardening
• Sign up for a solar neighbourhood bulk-buying initiative

Session 1: 10:00am–12:00pm Solar

Session 2: 1:00pm–3:00pm Green Roofs

School-ground greening and Live Green Toronto presentation

Everyone is invited to an information session by Live Green Toronto, in which Councillor Janet Davis and Councillor Sandra Bussin, council speaker, will be attending as well as Martina Rowley, an environmental specialist. Some of you are already acquainted with Martina since she did a presentation on our last Ward 16 Council Meeting. This is a great opportunity for everybody to bring ideas and projects you have in mind for your schools. Martina will be working with people in group exercises and discussions to target projects, review them and talk about potential partnerships between different groups.
