The Fun Fair needs a new Committee

Dear Parents, for the past several weeks notes have been coming home in the Thursday folder about the need for a new Fun Fair Committee. Earl Beatty's Fun Fair is the largest fundraiser of the year and needs enthusiastic and creative parents to organize it.

Past Fun Fairs have raised money to fund the following major items: computer lab furniture, audio-visual equipment, curtains for the gym stage, curriculum enhancement programs, and a smartboard.

The Fair takes place at the end of May and the planning of it should start in January to make sure everything runs smoothly.

The old Committee is happy to help with the handover and has all the information needed to plan the Fair.

If you're interested in being part of the new Fun Fair Committee please contact: Tina Lehtola, tinaslehtolaAThotmailDOT.com.

Earl Beatty Receives $4000 in funding!

The Earl Beatty Greening Team and Eco Committee is pleased to announce that our school has received funding from the City of Toronto Clean and Beautiful City Fund for our current and future greening projects around the school. Our application was sent in to Clean and Beautiful via Councillor Janet Davis' office, who passed on the good news of our success at the end of November.

The plan is to use part of the funds for our current - The Native Garden and Learning Circle - and for future projects, which will be decided through inputs from students and staff.

How much beautiful and clean, you ask? $4000!! Thanks to the City of Toronto's Clean and Beautiful Fund and to our dedicated team of Green volunteers who submitted the application. One more step in making Earl Beatty a beautiful place to be!
