Earl Beatty Community Centre Advisory Council Annual Family Skate a Huge Success!

Well, we couldn't ask for a better day! The sun was shining, it wasn't too cold and nearly 150 people participated in the Earl Beatty Community Centre Advisory Council Annual Family Skate.

The Crazy Scarf contest had about a dozen particpants; it was so difficult to choose the craziest scarf, the most colourful scarf, the cutest scarf or the longest scarf. The winners received a re-usable mug, hot chocolate, gloves or a warm headband. Thanks to all that participated.

Everyone got to join in the fun with the Spot Skate, and the youngest of the crowd had their own Simon Says game. Lots of happy winners received skate guards, laces, pucks, or skate tighteners.

The highlight of the event probably was the huge selection of yummy baked goods - including fabulous muffins from our local Cafe - Small World. Thanks to Tony and Beth for donating the muffins and their lovely organic, fair trade coffee. The Advisory Council would also like to thank the many parents who baked nut-free goodies for all to share. Everyone enjoyed them. Thanks also to Ellen and Sian for their swift hot chocolate making.

The event couldn't go on without the help of Community Centre staff - thanks to Crystal and Jesse for the music and games.

Looking forward to next year,

Liza
Advisory Council Member
